What the Job Actually Involves
- 1Photograph every panel under a swirl-finder light and log existing defects on a signed intake form
- 2Wash with a pH-neutral soap, then decontaminate: iron remover, tar remover, and a medium clay bar
- 3Tape all trim, badges, and rubber to keep compound out of gaps
- 4One-step or two-step machine correction depending on defect depth
- 5Panel wipe with a 15% IPA or dedicated prep solution — no silicone-laden quick detailers
- 6Apply the coating panel by panel, level within the flash window, inspect under two light sources
- 7Cure indoors or under a canopy for a minimum of 4 hours; hand the client a 7-day care sheet
